  • Neffy Has Passed the House Committee on Health & Human Services

    Another win yesterday as the SB25-278 passed unanimously in the House Committee on Health & Human Services! We are almost there!

    It is time to elect new Executive officers for the Colorado Association of School Nurses (CASN)
    President-Elect
    Secretary
    Treasurer-Elect
    Requirements: The school nurse must be an active member of CASN.
    If you are an active CASN member, consider increasing your involvement with CASN, whether in an elected or appointed office. We welcome active members from all over Colorado to participate. We encourage you to nominate yourself if you are an active CASN member interested in an Executive Board office.
     
    If you are interested in a CASN Executive position, please use this link to nominate.  Nominations are due by April 29th.
  • Colorado School Nurses Creating a Safer Environment for Colorado School Age Children

    Congratulations to all those who serve on the CASN’s advocacy committee!

     

    The advocacy committee has been involved in updating the stock auto-injector epipen law to just epinephrine. What this means, is that, if passed, intranasal epinephrine will be able to be stored in the stock epinephrine lockers.

     

    Today, SB25-287 passed committee unanimously!

     

    We are not done yet. Next the bill goes to appropriations where the fiscal impact of the bill is discussed.

  • Colorado has a New School Nurse Fellow

    Congratulations to Leah Wyckoff Colorado's newest fellow!

    The honor of Fellow is the most prestigious recognition that members can receive from NASN. It is a symbol of superior achievement in school nursing and exceptional contributions to NASN.

    Leah will be inducted at NASN 2025 in Austin. I hope to see many of you there supporting Leah in all of her achievements!

    In lieu of the CASN Spring Workshop, CASN is partnering with Children’s Hospital who will be hosting a clinical skills education & training in the metro area.

    Date: Friday, April 11, 2025

    Location: Fremont Building, 14603 E Fremont Ave in Centennial

    Time: 7:30-8:15

    Cost: $75 including lunch

    CE Credits: 6.75 for participation the entire day
