Jennifer Miles, MSW
Lobbyist for CASN
Jennifer Miles, MSW is the CASN’s lobbyist. She has a successful record of lobbying for nonprofit clients, in addition to expertise in research, preparing written briefs, policy analysis, and strategy development.
Jennifer is an expert in health care policy, human services issues, and issues affecting nonprofit organizations. She holds a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Denver. Her firm, Miles Consulting, Inc. represents health and human services nonprofit organizations at the Colorado State Capitol, including the Colorado Public Health Association, Public Health Nurses Association of Colorado, Colorado Society for Public Health Education, and Public Health Directors of Colorado, as well as the Colorado Community Health Network, Colorado Coalition for the Medically Underserved, Colorado Chapter of American College of Nurse Midwives, and All Kids Covered by 2010 Initiative.
In 2008 Jennifer received the prestigious John Muth Award from the Colorado Public Health Association for her efforts on SB08-194 – a bill to restructure and revitalize Colorado’s local public health system.

Kathy Reiner, M.P.H., B.S.N., R.N.
CASN Legislative Chair
Kathy has served as the Colorado Association of School Nurses Legislative Chair for the past 2 years and also had a stint in the position from 2003-2007. Her educational background includes a B.A. in biology and chemistry, and a Master’s in Public Health .
Kathy worked for the North Dakota Department of Health as an environmental chemist, the Oklahoma State Health Department as a communicable disease epidemiologist and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment studying the epidemiology of head injuries and suicide. After receiving her BSN in nursing from the University of Colorado in 1997 she has worked for Aurora Public Schools as a school nurse consultant, Child Protection liaison, and oversees health assistant training.
