Award Criteria/Guidelines

Each year the Colorado Association of School Nurses is proud to recognize its outstanding members in the categories of “School Nurse of the Year”, “School Nurse Administrator of the Year”, “School Nurse Advocate of the Year”.  To nominate a CASN member download the appropriate nomination form.  Nominations will be accepted from April 3-17, 2012.  Send nomination forms to:

Process for Selecting Recipients of Awards

1. Nominations will be submitted on a CASN nomination form along with a letter citing reasons for nomination.
2. The nominations will be reviewed for complete information.
3. SNOY and SNAOY candidates will be contacted to submit a curriculum vitae and evidence supporting the standards of school nursing practice/nurse administrator.
4. A committee will be selected to include a past recipient, state nurse consultant, the chairman of the selection committee (past-president of CASN) and the NASN director. The applications will be reviewed using the NASN guidelines.
5. The recommendation of the committee will be submitted to the Executive Board.
6. Executive Board will vote to accept the recommendations and the awards will be presented at the Spring conference.  For questions please contact:
